How secure and private is my data?Much moreso on both counts than we have encountered in most typical farming companies over our 28 years in this business!
Regarding security, we have never seen a system as robust or with as much multiple redundancy in the operations of any of our typical business clients. Ours is a Fortune-class system. Every element of the system is monitored via a fully automated 24x7 process, every day of the year, with typically only a few minutes between pager notice and fix - the public rarely sees any service interruption whatsoever.
Data backups are maintained offsite. With our dual-redundant fiber trunks onto the Internet we will soon begin to maintain complete backup web servers in a second network operations center (NOC), to eliminate even the downtime it would take to restore from backups. More importantly, this will also provide a backup plan for the possibility of major catastrophe in our primary NOC, such as severe fire or earthquake.
The centralized CTO system relieves client offices of the need to maintain high performance servers, data backups, and experienced technical personnel. It also guards against the possibilty of data instrusion by, for example, a disgruntled employee. Your data may also be downloaded if you wish.
Also, throughout most of the program you'll notice that your browser's security padlock icon is enabled. This indicates that SSL security is active, which verifies that a) you are communicating with the true CTO system and b) all data will be encrypted in transit.
Regarding privacy, standing OCS policy for 28 years has been complete confidentiality. Just as a bank's computer systems effectively keep sensitive accounting data separated by distinct account identifiers, so do the powerful SQL databases behind CTO's operation. Also, no customer mailing list or other information is ever sold or released in any way.
